Account
The Chemical Companion software is designed for emergency response personnel especially those in fire, law enforcement, hazmat/CBRN, emergency medical, and other supporting agencies. It is available to Government entities at the local, state, federal, and international (some, please inquire) levels
Registration is broken down into three parts. 1) Email validation (You must register with your official email address). An automated email will be sent to the registrants email address with a validation link. Once the registrant clicks the link to validate ownership of the email address, the registration is sent to the Chemical Companion Team for review. 2) Review of the application is to confirm Country, Organization, and standing as a supported end user. The team may reach out to the registrant or to their organizations leadership for validation. 3) An approval or rejection email will be sent to the registrant. If approved then the registrants account is updated to issue a License and allow for software download.
If you have lost access to your account, please visit the Log In page and click "Forgot Password". A secure reset link will be sent to your registered .gov or department email address immediately.
Software
Yes. The license allows installation on personal mobile devices (iOS and Android) for field use. However, you must log in using your official agency credentials to activate the software initially. Reference the license for terms and conditions for use.
We push Critical Updates immediately upon release from federal sources (such as the ERG updates). Standard library maintenance updates occur quarterly. The software will auto-notify you when an update is available.
Chemical Companion is available on Windows 11, iPad, and Android (Tablets). Other device types such as Android phones may be suitable but not offically supported. Mac OS is unoffically supported and further details are provided upon request and depending upon availability of resources to assist.
Custom deployments to Enterprise Apple Accounts require a fee. The fee covers software developer expenses and management to work with your agencies IT department along with labor to create a custom release. Please contact us for more details.
Licenses
Licenses require renewal depending upon the term length authorized for your account. If you see this message, please contact your department's IT administrator to ensure the subscription has been processed. If you are the department lead or Chemical Companion account holder, please log in to renew your license.
The Chemical Companion team monitors Government users License renewals and will reach out to verify the account holders email is still valid and that the user has not retired, moved departments, and is still a user in good standing with the terms of the license. If your license has not been renewed within 5 days of the expiration date, please reach out to support@chemicalcompanion.org . We do provide a grace period to ensure you will still have access to the software for a short duration after expiration.
Depending upon the license type you have, the application must check in with ChemicalCompanion.org for updates and to validate the license periodically. The typical check in frequency is every 30 days. If you missed this window, then the application resets and you must reauthenticate with the server. Make sure you are connected to the internet and then click "Log In". Provide your account email and password to reauthenticate. If you are still experiencing issues and your license is still valid then please contact for assistance.
We provide a brief time period, typically 24 hours, after your license or required check in with the server before locking the application. This allows the user to continue using the application in the field until they may reestablish connectivity on the internet. Please make sure to connect to the internet as soon as you are prompted in the application to ensure no downtime is experienced. Note that license information is displayed in the Settings tabe within the application.
