What is Chemical Companion?
Chemical Companion is a first responder software designed to make decision making and situational analysis faster and more accurate in the field. Chemical Companion provides interpretations of data from first responder instruments to provide real-time safety suggestions and threat analytics.
Am I eligible to use Chemical Companion?
The Chemical Companion is available for use for all approved military, law enforcement, and first responder organizations (fire, Hazmat, etc.) in the U.S. and partnering countries. It is not available in any other capacity.
How much does Chemical Companion cost?
Chemical Companion is free-of-charge for all approved organizations.
Is Chemical Companion compatible with my instruments?
Chemical Companion’s database encompasses the most common and widely available instruments and detectors. A full list is contained within the application.
Will Chemical Companion work with my operating system?
The desktop version of Chemical Companion currently runs on Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10. The software utilizes .Net 4.5 and the C++ redistributable, which are provided as part of the Chemical Companion install.
The iPad version of Chemical Companion currently runs on iOS 8 and higher.
The Android versions works with Android tablets only.
My registration hasn’t gone through. What should I do?
Registration usually takes 24-48 hours when using a government email address, and up to 1-2 weeks for a free email account (such as gmail). If your registration is not dealt with in this timeframe, contact us at email@example.com.
How will I know if I'm approved?
After the time period indicated above, you will receive an approval or rejection email.
What should I do if I’m part of a non-governmental entity?
Your email and registration will be kept on file. In the future, if modules become available for industry, you will be notified.
How do I download Chemical Companion?
After approval, the download link will be emailed to your registered email address.
Can I distribute Chemical Companion to everyone on my team?
It is recommended that when distributing Chemical Companion to more than one operator the process should be done through the organization’s technology representative.
How will I learn how to use Chemical Companion?
Chemical Companion provides a brief tutorial, help documentation, and training resources to authorized users. Contact us for on-site training opportunities.
Chemical Companion doesn’t work with my current operating system. What should I do?
